Spamming occurs if a phrase is used repetitively and you will be penalized for this.
Most search engines are more particular to links that focus on the same topic or have the same keywords as your web link. Take for instance you made a search using the keywords ‘search engine optimization’. At the bottom of that results page, you will see various links with one or more of the keywords. By clicking on any one of those links, you will be opening another range of websites similar to the one for which you are searching.
Search engine optimization also involves ‘link popularity’. This term refers to the situation where there are numerous links to your website; these links are of a high quality. The more links you have to your website, the greater the chance for it to be visited. High quality links are mostly found on Yahoo and Google than on a personal websites. This is because persons are more likely to visit Yahoo and Google than someone’s personal site.
